The Yotpo connection links BlueConic with Yotpo, an ecommerce marketing platform for reviews, loyalty, and referrals. Use it to import Yotpo customers into BlueConic profiles, together with their loyalty status and review aggregates. It also exports profile attributes from BlueConic to Yotpo customers, and awards Yotpo Loyalty points in real time when a profile property changes or a timeline event is added.
With loyalty and review data in BlueConic, you can segment and personalize on tier, points balance, or rating. Exporting CDP attributes to Yotpo sharpens campaign targeting there. You can also reward behavior that happens outside your webshop, such as completing a survey or attending an in-store event, with loyalty points.
Import and export goals run as scheduled batches. Award loyalty points goals run in real time.
Connection details:
Goal types: Import, export, and activate
Frequency: Batch (scheduled or manual) for import and export. Real time for award loyalty points.
Before you begin
Retrieve your Yotpo App Key (Store ID) and API Secret. Learn how in Finding your Yotpo App Key and Secret Key.
Retrieve your Loyalty GUID and Loyalty API key from Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals under Settings > General Settings. These are different from the App Key and API Secret. Learn how in Finding your Loyalty & Referrals API key and GUID.
Create the Custom Action earning rule in Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals before you configure the goal.
This connection doesn't sync SMS or email subscribers and doesn't send custom events to Yotpo SMS & Email.
Create a Yotpo connection
Click Connections in the BlueConic navigation bar.
Click Add Connection.
Search for "Yotpo" and select Yotpo connection. The Yotpo connection page opens.
Enter a descriptive name for the connection.
Optional: Select the Email notifications checkbox to notify one or more email addresses when the connection fails or runs successfully. Enter the addresses and click OK. Choose whether to send an email for every run or only for failed runs.
Click Save.
Authenticate the connection
Click Set up and run in the left panel.
Enter your Yotpo App Key (Store ID).
Enter your Yotpo API Secret.
For award loyalty points goals only: Enter your Loyalty GUID and Loyalty API key.
Click Save.
After authentication succeeds, you can configure import, export, and award loyalty points goals.
Note: The schedule appears on the Set up and run page after you activate at least one import or export goal.
Configure the connection
Click Add goal at the bottom of the panel to add a goal. Hover over a goal to copy or delete it, or drag it by its handle to change the run order. Select a goal to open its configuration page, where you can also rename it.
Set up an import customers goal
Import Yotpo customers to enrich BlueConic profiles with customer attributes, loyalty status, and review aggregates.
1. (Optional) Process data before import
Add a data processor in the "Search for a processor" field to filter or transform the data before BlueConic matches and maps it. Learn more about using data processors to filter or transform data.
Click Save.
2. Link identifiers
Link a Yotpo identifier (email, external ID, or phone number) to the BlueConic profile property or profile ID used to find the matching profile. To create profiles for customers without a match, select the option to create new profiles.
Click Save.
Note: Phone numbers aren't unique in Yotpo. Use email or external ID for matching.
3. Optional: Map Yotpo data to profile properties
Click Add mapping and pick the Yotpo fields to import:
Customer fields: external ID, email, phone number, first name, last name, gender, and account created and updated dates
Loyalty fields: points balance, points earned, VIP tier, opt-in status, referrals, and credit balance
Review aggregates: total reviews, average product and site rating, last star rating, sentiment, and top topics
To create a profile property from the mapping dropdown, enter its name. BlueConic creates the property when you save the connection.
Choose how each value is imported:
Set: Overwrite the profile property value.
Set if empty: Import the value only when the profile property is empty.
Set or clear: Clear the profile property when the imported field has no value.
Add: Add the value to the property's list of values. Duplicates are skipped.
Sum: Add the imported number to the current value. An empty property counts as 0, and non-numeric values are skipped.
Import only the fields your use cases need, such as VIP tier, points balance, or review rating for segmentation.
Set up an export customers goal
Export BlueConic profile attributes to create or enrich Yotpo customers. Click Add goal > Export customers, or select an existing export goal.
1. Select a segment
Choose the BlueConic segment to export. BlueConic exports only profiles in the segment that have a value for the linked identifiers. The goal shows how many profiles qualify.
2. Optional: Process data before export
Add one or more data processors to filter or transform the data.
Click Save.
3. Link identifiers
Link BlueConic profile properties, or the profile ID, to the Yotpo email, phone number, or external ID.
Click Save.
Important: Yotpo identifies each customer by external ID, by email, or by phone. Don't send email and phone together unless you also map an external ID. To create Yotpo customers for profiles without a match, select the option to create new customers.
4. Map BlueConic data to Yotpo
Click Add mapping. Pick a standard Yotpo field (email, phone number, external ID, first name, last name, or gender), or enter a custom property name. Click the BlueConic icon to choose the type of value to export:
Profile property: the value of a profile property
BlueConic profile identifier: the unique profile ID
Associated segments: all segments the profile belongs to, or specific ones
Associated lifecycles: all lifecycles the profile belongs to
All viewed interactions (all time): the interactions the profile has seen
Permission level: the permission level set in the profile
Text value: any static text
Set up an award loyalty points goal
Award Yotpo Loyalty points in real time when a profile property changes or a timeline event is added. The goal uses a Custom Action earning rule from Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals. Enter the Loyalty GUID and Loyalty API key on the Set up and run page first. Select Add goal to set up this goal.
1. Select a segment
Only profiles in this segment receive points from this goal.
Click Save.
2. When to send
When a profile property changes: Select one or more profile properties. BlueConic awards points when any of them changes for a profile in the segment.
When a timeline event is added: Select a timeline event type. BlueConic awards points when an event of that type is added for a profile in the segment.
3. (Optional) Process data before sending.
Add one or more data processors to filter or transform the data.
Click Save.
4. Link identifiers
Link a BlueConic profile property to the Yotpo customer email. Profiles without a matching email don't receive points.
Click Save.
5. (Optional) Map BlueConic data to Yotpo
Map BlueConic data to named keys sent with the Custom Action: profile properties, profile ID, permission level, text values, and, for timeline event triggers, timeline event properties. Use this when your Yotpo earning rule expects extra context.
Click Save.
6. Select the Custom Action
Choose the Custom Action earning rule from Yotpo Loyalty. The action name must match exactly. When the list is empty, create a Custom Action earning rule in Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals and open the goal again.
Award loyalty points goals run in real time and don't use the batch schedule.
