Omeda Connection

How to connect BlueConic profile data with data from OmedaNote: This connection has been deprecated. Contact your Customer Success Manager for more information on ways to connect with Omeda.

The logos in the top left display the connection status. A new connection will start up with a gray arrow, as it still needs to be configured. The connection is configured via clickable tabs on the left hand side:

Set up and run

To make a connection with Omeda, you will need to provide the sFTP Omeda directory where the daily file with Omeda customer updates, changes and merges will be retrieved from. Request your Omeda directory via the Omeda team. See the Omeda documentation for details.

When the ingested data indicates two customer accounts were merged, BlueConic will follow suit and merge the corresponding BlueConic profiles.

Data exchange shows the total number of unique profiles that have been imported or exported via the connection. Note that these are unique profiles - if the same profile is exported multiple times, it is counted as 1.

Import goals

An import goal defines which information should be imported from Omeda and how the information will be mapped to BlueConic profiles. You can have multiple import goals; they can be added with the Add goal button. To delete or copy a goal, hover over the goal and click the "x" or copy icon. Activate a goal by activating the checkbox in front of it.

Click an import goal to configure its settings. This is also where you can edit the name of the goal. Follow the instructions to configure the goal.

1. Select Omeda audiences to import data from

You can choose to import data from a specific Omeda audience, or from all Omeda audiences that BlueConic detects.

2. Map identifiers between Omeda and BlueConic

First define how the Omeda data will be matched to BlueConic profiles. When email address or customer ID match, data will be imported into a BlueConic profile. Data will not be imported if no match can be found, unless creating new profiles is allowed. Enable the "Allow Omeda to create new profiles in BlueConic" checkbox if you want a new BlueConic profile to be created when no match was found.

3. Map Omeda data to BlueConic

Next, indicate how Omeda customer data should be mapped to BlueConic profiles:

Click Add mapping to add a new mapping rule. Select the Omeda field, the BlueConic profile property and the way to transfer the value ("Set if empty", "Set", "Add" or "Sum"). Hover over a mapping rule and click the "x" to delete the rule.

Export goals

An export goal determines what information will be exported from BlueConic to Omeda and how the information is mapped. Having multiple export goals is an option; click the Add goal button to add a new export goal. To delete or copy a goal, hover over the goal and click the "x" or copy icon. Activate a goal by activating the checkbox in front of it. Click a goal to configure its settings. On the top of the page you can edit the name of the goal. Follow the numbered instructions to configure the goal.

1. Select a BlueConic segment to export profile data from

Enter the segment that contains the profiles to export.

In the top right-hand corner, the number of profiles available for the export appears.

This number shows how many profiles meet the conditions for the selected segment (for example, they have an email address and gave required consent for an objective) and therefore are available for the export. BlueConic tries to export only the profiles that have changed since the last export. This number of profiles exported may be lower than the number displayed here.

2. Link identifiers between BlueConic and Omeda

Select the BlueConic profile property that holds the Omeda Customer ID. Profiles without a value for that profile property will not be exported.

This means you will have to get the Omeda Customer ID into BlueConic profiles, either via an import goal, or via another connection.

3. Map BlueConic data to Omeda

This is where you can export segment membership for profiles to Omeda. You can limit the selection of segments whose membership you want to export by clicking on "All associated segments":

Don't forget to activate and save your Omeda connection!

Now that you have configured the setup and have activated one or more goals, you can set a run schedule on the "Set up and run" tab. Or click the Run now button to run the connection immediately.

Privacy management

Connections can be added to Objectives, allowing for privacy management of the information that is being picked up. A connection will only process the profiles of visitors who have consented to at least one of the objectives that the connection is linked to.
