BlueConic Connections facilitate data exchange with external systems, centralizing customer data from various sources within BlueConic profiles and enabling export to other platforms. Universal connections provide flexible options to integrate with diverse platforms and databases, complementing specific integrations. Use them to unify customer data from disparate systems when other connection types aren't suitable, enabling effective segmentation, personalization, and reporting.
Before you begin
Identify your data sources and define the desired data flow (import, export, or both).
Collect credentials and API keys for external platforms, based on connection requirements.
Determine the structure and format of your data files for CSV or SFTP integrations.
Types of Universal Connections
Connector | Description |
Allows the automated synchronization of BlueConic data out to various CRM and digital marketing platforms using comma-separated value (CSV) files.
The Data Layer Connection enables real-time enrichment of BlueConic profiles with data from an existing or new BlueConic data layer, and allows for real-time export of BlueConic data into a data layer.
The BlueConic SFTP connection synchronizes data between BlueConic and other platforms or databases using delimited files (e.g., CSV) on SFTP servers, enabling scheduled batch imports and exports, and the import/export of data to enhance user profiles
The BlueConic Webhook connection allows you to pass data to webhooks of external marketing automation platforms and import data returned. The Webhook connection also allows you to define incoming webhooks to BlueConic, so external marketing automation platforms can pass data into BlueConic. |
Other Universal Connections
Amazon Web Services (S3) Connection: The S3 connection synchronizes data from marketing platforms and databases into BlueConic using delimited flat files to create/enhance user profiles. It supports scheduled batch import/export and importing groups like households, companies, or accounts.
Kafka Connection: The Kafka Connection lets you listen to Kafka topics and store the results in BlueConic for segmentation, targeting, reporting, or data activation.
Snowflake Connection: The bi-directional Snowflake Connection enables you to enrich BlueConic profiles with data from Snowflake and vice versa, using an Amazon S3 server or Google Cloud Storage bucket for data transfer. It supports scheduled batch import and export, as well as real-time import.
Note: BlueConic offers a variety of integration methods to suit different needs. In addition to the universal connections described in this article, BlueConic also supports integrations such as firehose connections, Android SDK, iOS SDK, and documented APIs.
Next steps
Review the documentation for the relevant universal connection (e.g., CSV Connection, SFTP Connection) to understand the setup and configuration process.
Define the requirements for each use case, including the data sources, data destinations, and the frequency of data exchange.
