Unique identifiers, like email addresses and customer IDs, are crucial for recognizing and merging customer profiles in BlueConic. This enables accurate identity resolution, personalized experiences, and consistent data across various sources. BlueConic's Listeners capture these identifiers from diverse interactions, such as website forms and app engagements, ensuring robust profile recognition and management.
Create a unique identifier
Unique identifiers are stored as profile properties. To designate a property as a unique identifier:
Navigate to the Profile Properties tab.
Select the desired property (e.g., Email Address).
Check the Unique identifier option.
(Optional) Enable "Create new profile when identifier changes" to prevent erroneous profile merges if the identifier value changes.
Designating a property as a unique identifier automatically classifies its data sensitivity as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and is visible only to BlueConic users whose role has privileges to view sensitive data.
