AI features in BlueConic

Updated yesterday

BlueConic offers AI-powered capabilities that help teams explore, understand, and act on customer data more efficiently. These features support content generation, SQL creation, code completion, and insight discovery — all within a secure, governed environment.

All AI functionality in BlueConic is designed with data privacy, security, and transparency at its core. These principles ensure that organizations can innovate confidently — knowing their customer data remains safe, isolated, and compliant.

Before you begin

  • Before using AI features, confirm that generative AI functionality is enabled for your tenant via Settings > General > Generative AI settings.

  • Tenant-level controls let your organization switch generative AI on or off based on internal policies.

  • Engage internal stakeholders (e.g., security, legal, data governance teams) to ensure your organization’s responsible AI requirements are met.

AI features in BlueConic

When you use an AI-driven feature in BlueConic — such as generating dialogues, creating notebooks using AI code completions and chat, or creating timeline event rollups SQL — the system securely sends the relevant context to the underlying large language model (“LLM”) service hosted on Amazon Bedrock, the Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) managed AI platform.

  • Prompts and data are transmitted over encrypted connections.

  • Amazon Bedrock then routes the request to a trusted LLM or embedding model to generate or process a response.

  • Neither Amazon Bedrock nor the model provider stores or retains your input or output.

  • All processing happens transiently, and the data is discarded immediately after the response is produced.

  • The generated result is returned directly and securely to your BlueConic environment.

Note: BlueConic uses large language and embedding models selected for their enterprise-grade reliability, performance, and data protection. These include Anthropic Claude, Amazon Nova Pro, and Amazon Titan, all hosted in AWS’ secure environment. BlueConic may update or expand the models in use as new options meet our internal security and compliance standards.

Data privacy and security

No data sharing between tenants

  • Each tenant is fully isolated.

  • AI prompts, interactions, and outputs in your tenant are never shared with or accessible to other tenants or third parties.

No data used for model training

  • Prompts, inputs, and outputs are not used to train or fine-tune large language or embedding models.

  • BlueConic does not insert customer-specific information into model training prompts or features.

  • Platform improvements rely only on securely logged metadata in internal systems such as Splunk and Pendo.

    • Logs support usage monitoring, feature quality, and AI experience improvements.

    • Logged data is accessible only to authorized personnel and governed by strict privacy and security controls.

Encryption everywhere

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest using industry-standard encryption.

  • AWS encrypts all communication within its environment, including traffic to Amazon Bedrock.

  • Logs stored in Amazon CloudWatch are encrypted at rest.

Model Context Protocol (MCP)

When you connect your own AI tool to BlueConic MCP, you’re giving your tool access to your tenant. Ensure you’re working with a trusted provider that handles data responsibly, and confirm that it doesn’t use your data to train its models.
