The BlueConic SDK for Connected TV (CTV) platforms—Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku—enables you to collect rich, first-party data from OTT apps. Use this data to recognize users across devices, personalize viewing experiences, and coordinate cross-channel marketing.
Like web and mobile, the CTV SDK captures behavioral data, identifies users (known or anonymous), and activates real-time profile data for targeting. Enabling a CTV channel in BlueConic lets you:
Build unified profiles with first-party CTV data
Personalize OTT content, ads, and offers
Measure and optimize campaigns across channels
Target CTV audiences with precision as ad spend grows
Configure the CTV channel
To collect data from any channel, BlueConic CDP must communicate with the BlueConic server via the JavaScript front-end API or REST API. Unlike websites, where the BlueConic script is added to pages, CTV apps do not use web views or standard browsers. Instead, developers should use the BlueConic SDK for CTV platforms to enable data collection and personalization directly within the app experience. To configure:
Navigate to settings > Channels & BlueConic hostnames.
Click Add Channel.
Select CTV Channel.
Enter the required details for your CTV app:
App Name
App Identifier (e.g., package name or bundle ID)
Platform (Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku)
Environment (Production / Development)
Click Save.
Once saved, your CTV channel will appear in the list of configured channels alongside your web and mobile channels.
Test the configuration
Navigate to More > Simulator.
Enter your CTV App ID.
The Simulator will display:
The Session ID for your CTV app.
Use the Session ID in your BlueConic SDK app to confirm successful data flow into BlueConic.
