Segmentation updates

If you are a frequent BlueConic user, you have noticed that we revamped the customer segmentation user interface as detailed in July, and shown in the nifty animation below! As a CDP, BlueConic can handle hundreds of millions of profiles, making segmentation of these millions of profiles manageable is a key feature.

How to create real-time customer segments in the BlueConic customer data platform

We’ve continued to refine segmentation in BlueConic, and introduce two new features:

  • Inverse segments. You can now create ‘100% mutually exclusive’ segments. This is a special type of segment that contains all profiles that are not in another segment. Very useful if you want to target or learn more about users who don’t match a specific segment. Simple examples include non-customers, or users who haven’t interacted with a dialogue. Even the most complex segments can have a paired inverse segment, though, so segment away!

  • Also, segmenting on empty or non-empty profile properties just got a whole lot easier! You can now create segments based on whether users have some data or no data stored for a specific profile property. For example, we’ve made it more intuitive to build a segment for profiles with no email address yet, or who do have an email address in the system.

Slide out Interaction

Over the last few months, we updated our Lightbox and Toaster interactions. You all were really happy to see this, so we did the same with the Slide Out interaction. So, just like with the Lighbox and Toaster, you now have features like:

  • Templates to speed up creation and design of new Slide Out interactions
  • Positioning the slide out on the left, right, top or bottom
  • Adjust when the Slide Out will appear (for example only when scrolling down to 80% of the page, or after 10 seconds, or clicking on an element)
  • Style settings for those who want to get in and manipulate the CSS to make the lightbox all their own

If you haven’t played around yet with the new interaction, try it today. You will not regret it, and will never forget it!

More Connections!

Another month, another set of connections! This month we introduce the following connections:

  • Google Customer Match Connection
  • Campaign Monitor ESP Connection. CampaignMonitor is an Email Service Provider used by 150,000 businesses across the globe, and we really admire their product. It looks so nice! Seriously, take a freemium account at their site! Of course we wanted a connection with them, too, and this month we have it in place.

Also, ICYMI, last month we introduced connections with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (aka ExactTarget) and with Visual Website Optimizer, but we now have more in depth blogs about those as well. So if you are interested in any of those, take a look at those links.

Small can be big

Last but not least we have some smaller additions you will probably love:

  • We changed the top navigation a bit. We made it simpler, with 4 menu items and a pull down. Quicker access to the core features you need!

  • For Firefox users, we’ve introduced the same browser extension we’ve featured for Chrome, but now for Firefox!
  • In the users panel, there is a new field that shows when a user has last logged in

Upcoming Features

Here's a quick rundown of some of the things we're working on that should be announced/available soon:

Area

Updates!

Object Overview

We’re replacing the left sidebar with an easy-to-use table with filters and column selectors, so you can get a better overview of your objects.

Google Tag Manager

We are updating the current GTM integration to make it a lot more point-and-click.

Profile Properties Insights

Ever had the need to eliminate outliers or group ranges of numeric profile properties values in the much used profile properties insight? Now you can!

Form Dialogues

The form dialogue is already used a lot to quickly create a simple form on your website. Until now it took a lot of clicking to send an email to either the one that filled in the form, or to someone internally.
