Update Snowflake Connection for multi-factor authentication

Updated over a week ago

We’ve updated our security and infrastructure to stay aligned with evolving requirements. Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) has been upgraded in response to Snowflake’s rollout of mandatory MFA, and the AWS SDK has been upgraded from v2 to v3 to ensure continued compatibility with Amazon S3 and improved performance.

Update your Snowflake Connection

  1. Select the Settings cogwheel → Plugins → Click Add plugin.

  2. Enter Snowflake and click Update plugin.

  3. Gather your Snowflake authentication details. You'll need:

    1. Snowflake Private Key

    2. Associated Passphrase.

  4. Select Connections from the main menu and search for Snowflake. You'll need to re-authenticate each of your Snowflake connections.

  5. Click into each instance of the Snowflake Connection.

  6. Select the Set up and run tab. Update the private key and passphrase for each Snowflake Connection.

See here if you need help getting your private key.

  7. If using S3 as your Data Access method: Double-check that your primary AWS region is selected for optimal speed and cost.
